"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11
There is an urgency in this hour to be firmly grounded in the Word of God. As culture continues to drift further and further away from a biblical worldview, the Church must know who she is and what has been spoken over her. Glory to God, He has sent us His Word!
If we fall into the trap that we only read one or two verse calendar devotionals, or only hear what is preached about in church, we are missing one of the greatest gifts God has sent us. The Word of God is the carrier of our hope. It is the revelation of our destiny, and it is the joy set before us! There is purpose in you! But if you don't use the resources God has given you, you are missing the opportunity to the fullness of life found only in Him.
"There is nothing new under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Nothing that is happening surprises God. And as followers of Christ, we should be able to say the same thing! When we read the Bible, the whole Bible, time after time, God shows Himself to be true to His word. "Indeed, let God he true but every man a liar..." (Romans 3:4). He is not surprised by your current circumstances. Neither are you alone in them. Take heart!
Confidence in the Word of God comes from meditating upon it. The ability to meditate upon the Word and let it take root in your spirit and wash over your soul, comes from the power of the Holy Spirit. What does that mean? Let the Lord highlight a verse for you. Then, ask. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning of the verse or verses to you. He longs to reveal Himself to you.
"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee" (2 Corinthians 1:20-24). When we are born again, there is a literal exchange of the old self for the new self. This doesn't happen to just some Christians; it is the definition of a Christian! We must read the Word of God cover to cover to understand our new identity in Christ. It is the Spirit of God in our hearts that is the guarantee that what the Bible says will come to pass! It is the Spirit of God given to us as a gift that opens our hearts, minds, eyes, and ears to the Truth that is the Word of God. Dive in deep to the treasures found in Him. He is worthy!
